Creating Safer, Sustainable Energy Efficient Homes

Updated: Dec 26, 2022

Our company is proud to play a role as stewards of the land. When a traditional stick-built 2-bedroom home is constructed, it can release over eighty tons of carbon dioxide emissions. This is the equivalent of five new cars! Today, we have the technology to help lower the carbon footprint by building safer, sustainable energy-efficient homes.

At Caribou Mountain Homes our mottois “We are just built different” This is not just words or a catchy sales slogan. Our manufacturing plant builds and delivers long term, affordable, eco-friendly, energy-efficient “ready-to-move” (RTM) homes that have eye appeal and durability. We construct quality homes that stand up to life in the north. The amount of waste generated from construction is limited to just a few garbage cans.

Through our amazing technology the homes we build do not require generators or fuel. They operate using a versatile, energy-efficient cooling and heating system which helps further reduce the carbon footprint.

These are tangible benefits to Little Red River Cree Nation, as we can produce greener, safer, longer lasting homes. This means houses continue to be energy efficient over the long-term. We are very proud of this technology and the benefits we bring to future generations to have a safe Mother Earth.

“We are proud of our Company and the continuous benefits it brings to the Nation and other communities in Western Canada. Proudly First Nation owned, proudly environmentally progressive and committed to employing our people- that’s Caribou Mountain Homes.”

We employ between 50-100 local workers each year! This provides increased opportunities for training, growth, and advancement. We are keenly aware that supporting community employment also improves community wellbeing.
