Tradespeople are in Demand

Once upon a time, trades people were considered “less than”. There was a time when most people considered a university degree as the only respectable career pathway. Fast forward to 2022, and we can confidently say that tradespeople are in demand, well-paid and respected! Not only respected, but very much needed.

Today, the demand of tradespeople, and the plentiful work in many aspects of construction, are helping create jobs in our own community and beyond. Caribou Mountain Construction is focused on creating new jobs by tendering a larger number of jobs in a diverse geographic region. As we are awarded more work, we can expand our workforce. We have chosen to focus on on-the-job training to develop our newer team members into competent operators, crew leads, and foremen. We provide safety training and classroom training in various work related disciplines to make sure our employees understand the risk and hazards of the work they perform. We also focus on continual improvement by providing training and development courses for team members.

With a national housing crisis, construction will continue to be on the rise and Caribou Mountain Construction is leveraging it’s position to ensure continual benefits for the community as a whole and for the individuals employed.

What comes next? We are responding to many requests for proposals (RFPs) and growing the company in strategic ways. We will continue to invest in our staff and community by seeking skilled tradespeople and providing opportunities for motivated community members to develop these skills. The happy ending to the ‘once upon a time” is here – for our community members to become fully-trained, and fully employed in meaningful work they enjoy.
