The Board of Directors appointed by shareholder of the Little Red River Cree Nation, represented by Chief and Council.

The five-member Board of Directors is comprised of two members of the LRRCN community along with three highly experienced and qualified non-community directors.  The Board of Directors provides overall governance to protect stakeholder value while delegating and providing competent, independent, and ethical guidance to the CEO for the attainment of the company’s goals and objectives.

CHIEF CONROY SEWEPAGAHAM

Board Chair

Chief, Little Red River Cree Nation, community member - Prior to being elected as Chief in 2018, Conroy had served the LRRCN in the lands management department first as support staff then as the director. He has been able to involve the LRRCN in a number of research projects with various universities in Canada. His work has left a favorable impression of the LRRCN with outside organizations. Chief Conroy also serves as the Grand Chief of the North Peace Tribal Council.

MURRAY HALES, FCPA, FCA, ICD.D

Board Member

Murray received his Bachelor of Administration from the University of Regina in 1974 and obtained his CA designation in  1976.  He spent his entire career as an accountant in public practice originally in Regina and Yellowknife and then in Leduc, Alberta since 1982 where he was a partner in a local firm which subsequently merged with MNP LLP where he served as an assurance partner until retirement in 2012. His practice included owner managed businesses, First Nations, Municipalities, School Boards and not-for-profit organizations.

BRIAN HJLESVOLD

Board Member

After completing 30 years with the Royal Bank of Canada, Brian is a retired Commercial Banker. Brian spent the last 14 years with RBC leading the Aboriginal Financial Services group in Alberta, NWT & Yukon. He was responsible for business development, community involvement, and mentoring of Alberta Aboriginal employees. It was during his work with the Alberta First Nations that he developed a passion for capacity building in Aboriginal Communities.

ARTHUR DUMAINE

Board Member

Nation member of LRRCN, worked with the Nation over the past 25 years, starting as finance clerk upon receiving further education leading into the positions of Financial Controller, Nation Administrator, CFO, Operations Manager, CEO. Worked with LRRCN Corporate Group in administrative operations.
